Bootpack Photo Co. - New Website, New Photos, Fresh Mission
I recently re-designed a small photography website that I run with a friend. Bootpack.com had been ticking over for four years, sporadically receiving new images and design updates.
2012 was, however, time to make a change and re-design the website, setting ourselves some new goals in the process.
We both wanted to continue taking and sharing photos, hopefully building a small following and potentially offering prints and commissions; full time commitments - jobs, study, newly born daughters - do exist, so photography would have to remain a sideline for now.
The solution was to build a new website with an easy-to-use content management system, and gradually build our sideline organically.
Bootpack.com became Bootpack Photo Co:

I designed and built the new website using Squarespace, one of the most impressive CMS and design platforms that I’ve ever seen. With simple HTML and CSS tweaks to one of the many existing templates, I was able to create a clean design that incorporated easily navigable photo galleries, many potential dynamic features and, most importantly, a blog that will feature new work, photography articles, and can handle multiple authors.

The next step is, of course, to keep taking photos and to keep on writing. Photography is a great sideline to have and, with a bit of hard work and the right images, we hope to one day take things to the next step.
So, armed with a new website, it’s time for a fresh mission: more photos, more blog posts, more sharing and, hopefully, a print here and a commission there.
